On the night of Joes 16th birthday, a split-second decision forces him to
choose between himself and his heart. As two very different paths unfold
before him, the consequences of that choice will change his life forever.
Tim Firths hilarious, high energy musical is set to a score of MADNESS hits
including “It Must Be Love”, “House of Fun”, “Baggy Trousers”, and “Our
House” to name a few.

Seeking:
DAD – A man of spirit who married the love of his life, had a son he loved
dearly, but took the wrong path and died as a result. He is desperate for
Joe not to make the mistakes he made. The narrator of the story, he is
charming, funny, and caring, albeit a little rough around the edges. We need
to have no doubt that this is a father who loves his family more than words
can express. His relationship with Joe, although the two rarely interact, is
emotional, real, and extremely important to the narrative so we absolutely
need to feel his desperation at Joes mistakes as he begins to take the
wrong path in life.

Not the brightest bulb, Emmo is one of Joes best friends with a heart of
gold. Naïve and upbeat, he sees the world through the eyes of an excitable
child. We are looking for someone with excellent comedy timing and
preferably (though not essential) a broad build. This actor will also play
various small parts in the ensemble and cover.

Sensitive and good natured, Lewis is another of Joes best friends and works
with Emmo as a double act. We are looking for someone with excellent comic
timing who can not only bring out the comedy in the role, but also capture
his sweet temperament. Wouldnt harm a fly. We are looking for somebody with
a slim build, 510-61. This actor will also play various small parts in the
ensemble and cover.

someone with a magnetic presence to bring this sinister character to life.
Rarely shouts, its in the eyes. This actor will also play a large number of
ensemble roles and cover “DAD” so strong movement and singing is essential.

FEES AND CONTRACT DETAILS
Payment
Rehearsals – £435 per week
Performers must have a London base for rehearsals, as no subsistence will be
paid for the rehearsal process.
Tech week and Performance weeks
£460 per week, plus weekly touring allowance £240, and weekly company travel
£75.
Swing fee : £20.89 per week
Cover responsibility : £16.72 responsibility per role. Performance payment
of £25.04, capped at three performances a week.
Fee inclusive of overtime. Holiday pay to be paid.
